5:00 pm
Deadlines, Deadlines, Deadlines.
There are things to do but not so much time to get them done. You've got three assignments to work on and just then-
Your phone rings.
A notification? Oh how wonderful, perfect timing.
Will you [[check on it]]?
It could be something important.
Or will you [[ignore it|ignore]]?
Maybe it's just some app promotion, not like you don't get those every day.
5:00 pm
It's probably not that important, besides you have something important to be working on right now anyway.
You ignore it and continue on with what you were already working on.
Before you knew it, a good chunk of [[time had already passed|time passes]].5:00 pm
No harm in checking right?
The last part of your favorite series was just updated! It's 45 minutes long, you've been working for a while now, so a break wouldn't hurt, right?
You can either [[watch it]] now or, [[save it for later]].
Better yet, why don't you try [[playing it in the background|background]]?5:02 pm
Yeah, it's break time! You save what you're working on and switch to a new tab to watch the new update.
One moment after the other, jampacked action scenes fill your screen.
Only to be left...
[[On a cliffhanger?!|finish the video]]
5:00 pm
Cool! Now you have something to look forward to after you finish your work. You save it to your watch later, lock your phone and set it to face down once again to continue working.
Before you knew it, a good chunk of [[time had already passed|time passes]].5:30 pm
Another notification sounds off through your phone, followed by another right after. Considering the timing, could it be a text? Perhaps an update? You don't know.
What takes importance?
Will you [[check the app|check by opening the app]] or [[put the phone on silent mode]] and continue with your work?5:30 pm
Actually, scratch that, might not want to miss anything important right? You unlock the phone and check the received notifications.
The first one was simply a poorly timed app promotion following an actual text message, scrolling past the text message to quickly check on the earlier notification was an update regarding the season finale of a series you've been fixated on for a while now, but wait... 45 minutes long?! It'll be well close to dinner time by then...
Do you [[answer the text message]], or [[watch the finale]]?5:30 pm
Can't afford any kind of distraction! You grab the phone to turn on silent mode and toss it onto your bed, turning around and continuing your work. Knocking out the first assignment, you decide it's finally time for a bit of a break.
If you can even call it [[that|time to make dinner]].5:47 pm
So much so for wanting a closing ending. The finale leaves you with more questions than answers.
These questions won't answer themselves, right? You open up yet another tab, closing out the other prior tabs you had. Searching up the series name, you go down a wormhole of different articles, repeated back to back searches looking for:
A season two announcement? Is the series continued in a book? Is that book series still ongoing? Has it ended? Where can you buy this series? Where does season one drop off at? Where will it pick back up at?
Nothing is being answered, time to resort to social media for [[some answers|twitter time]].5:00 pm
Multitasking exists for a reason!
You prop your phone up to your right side and let the finale play in the background as you continue to work on what is due.
It's hard to focus on two things at once though, anytime it sounded like something important was happening, you'd take your eyes off your work and glue them immediately on the smaller screen.
Also trying to type out what's on your mind when someone is saying something entirely different through the screen has you jumbling over your words half the time you got anything done.
Let's not even mention the amount of times you had to rewind to rewatch a scene that you missed because you didn't look away in time and catch what'd happened beforehand.
To top it all off, [[the ending was a cliffhanger]]!6:30 pm
Well great, you barely made any progress on your work, stuck with a cliffhanger with no idea if there'll be a season two or if you'll have to scour the internet for the actual ending if it's even ended at all.
Whatever, you've already passed this much time, [[should probably eat|time to make dinner]] something so you don't forget to later.6:27 pm
You spend some time sifting through several update accounts, scrolling past what's trending and what the latest comments say in response to the final episode.
Reassurance lies within knowing that others shared a similar reaction of trying to find a concluding ending, even so much so a continuation for this series but by the looks of it, there are no announcements having stated news of such.
Defeated and looking at the time-
Oh, shoot! [[Don't forget to eat something!|time to make dinner]]6:30 pm
Putting everything off to the side, You step away from your desk to make yourself some dinner.
You can either, put some effort into it [[and make a simple but fulfilling dinner]], or take an easy route and heat up a [[frozen TV dinner]]. Which will it be?5:35 pm
You open up the text message, it's your friend! Reading through the first half of the message, its regarding the season finale.. . that you didn't get to watch.
Probably shouldn't read it right? That obviously doesn't stop you, reading through the rest and-
Yup!
SPOILERS!
Not even a warning. Great.
Typing back an almost immediate, annoyed response of "spoiilleersss" informing them that you hadn't gotten the chance to watch the finale.
Which in response is followed by frantic back-to-back apologetic texts.
Well now you knew the ending, and some other key plot points that they'd mentioned. Makes you even wonder if you should even bother watching it now, (but to be fair, it probably won't, just now you'll know what's coming).
The conversation splits off into some side topics, bringing up past episodes, theories, and further discussion of the story overall. Before you'd even realized
It was already time for [[dinner?!|time to make dinner]]5:30 pm
Ignoring the text message you switch to a new tab to watch the new update.
One moment after the other, jampacked action scenes fill your screen.
Only to be left...

In the end, none of your questions are being answered, and the closing in time for dinner, unfortunately, puts your search on hold for the time being. Take a break and go [[eat something|time to make dinner]].
6:33 pm
This'll definitely take a bit longer to finish but is worthwhile in the end right?
...
Right? Yeah, sure, let's go with that.
You take an assortment of different ingredients and begin on making yourself a simple dinner. Preparation and Cooking always seem to take the longest, realizing that [[an hour and a half had gone by]] just like that!6:33 pm
Quick, easy, and done within 10 minutes (usually), choosing the easy path was probably the way to go, don't want to waste too much time now would we?
Picking your favorite one out of the freezer and following its instructions, it finishes within no time and you're already [[sitting down eating the food]].8:05 pm
Finishing the cooking , you plate the meal and bring it with you to the table, sitting down and enjoying the meal.
And with that, your meal break is now over, after all, that work won't finish itself now will it?
[[To be continued/Restart Point|Home]]6:43 pm
Just as quickly you made the meal, is how quickly it's finished. Well, simplistic never did mean fulfilling so, it's not always the best but the food is food, right?
Anyway, it's once again time to get back to your work, it won't finish itself now will it?
